Summer Spotlight: '28 Dayton Micheal Hanson
July 1, 2025
The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Hawaii staff has officially wrapped up the Hawaii State Games, which featured over 100 players from across the state. The event brought together a strong group of uncommitted talent who showed well across all areas of the game. From the workout to live gameplay, there was no shortage of standout performances, and several players made a strong impression as they head into the rest of the summer.
As we continue our coverage, we’re kicking off our Uncommitted Spotlight Series—where we’ll take a closer look at some of the top performers from the event. With updated stats, data, and video now added to player profiles, these prospects have taken another step forward in tracking their progress and getting their game out there. This series will highlight what they showed at the event and why they stood out to our staff.
We continue highlighting summer standouts with '28 Dayton Michael Hanson. At the Hawaii State Games, Hanson was a legit two-way prospect who caught our staff’s eye. He posted a top-three exit velocity with a 101.4 mph max and a 93.5 mph average, showcasing some impressive pop for a '28. During the live games, Dayton was a solid arm on the mound. He sat 82–85 mph on the heater with some sink and added a slider that found the zone, along with a changeup that was his go-to for good reason. It sat 70–75 mph and had an average of 19 inches of horizontal break and only 3.4 inches of IVB, giving it serious depth and ASR.
This article will take a closer look at some of Dayton's recent metrics, scouting reports, and videos from previous events, including the Hawaii State Games.

Scouting Report
6-03/165, excellent/ideal pitcher's frame, long limbs w/high waist...very loose/live arm with excellent arm action and minimal effort, up to 80 at this event not something that excites you, then you realize he's 13 yrs old and 6-03, mid 90's as a high school senior not far fetched...good action with more feel that one would guess to split, chance to be a quality out-pitch...threw SL for strikes but would like to see more spin/finish, plenty of room for added strength & time to improve breaking ball...around zone w/full mix, looks like a strike-thrower, definitely chance to start...sky is the limit, one of the more interesting 2028's that I truly look forward seeing develop event-after-event and year-after-year...Hawaii #3 ranked 2028...strong DI recruit...future MLB scout follow and potential 2028 MLB draft.
