Minnesota, USA - The Minnesota State Games took place June 16-18 and June 24-25, 2025. The event was held at Minnetonka High School and the West St. Paul Dome. During this event, athletes underwent Vald Jump Testing prior to running their 60 yard dash at the event, below we will include the metrics leaders, along with why the test matters for baseball athletes.

WHY WE MEASURE THE VERTICAL JUMP

Vertical jumps are one of the most tested metrics for all athletics, from the MLB and NFL draft combines, and is a major part of power development for athletes in training. In relation to baseball, lower body strength + power can be an invaluable tool for predicting power output and readiness to perform. High jump output can equate to more efficent engergy transfer while swinging a bat, throwing a baseball and sprinting - Ryan Crotin

In the new age of baseball, metrics that can show what an athlete accels at, and/or needs development with, shows another piece of the puzzle of how a baseball athlete can develop. Below we have all of the vertical jump leaders from our 2025 State Games.
