Tuscaloosa Summer ID: Quick Hits
July 11, 2025
TUSCALOOSA, AL - The Tuscaloosa Summer ID was held on Wednesday, July 9th at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2026-2030 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using VALD Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.
Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take an in-depth look at some of the top performers from Wednesday's showcase. Please continue to check back over the next week, as we will release other leaderboards and individual scouting reports on each player present at the event.

+ RHP Branson Hogan (Oak Mountain, 2026) continues to showcase electric stuff on the mound with some notable upside as a starter or potential back-end arm. Listed at 6-foot-0, 181-pounds, the former Future Gamer lived 89-90 mph while touching 90.9 mph with the FB that showed natural arm-side run and spin rates north of 2400 RPM. The CB at 78-80 mph has teeth with hard, downward bite and profiles to get swings-and-misses off the fastball. More 11-5 depth with some feel to land it to the bottom or beneath the zone. Also featured a CH at 79-81 mph with fading action as third offering. Up-tempo delivery with confident demeanor.
+ C Jaylen Crocker (American Christian, 2026) is fresh off a big spring helping lead the Patriots to a state title and continues to look like one of the top uncommitted backstops in Alabama's 2026 class this summer. Another former Future Gamer, Crocker stands at 6-foot-2, 214-pounds with defined physical strength proportionally. Shows easy pull-side impact with low-effort intent to get high exits. Posted a top EV of 102.2 mph to lead the event. Ball tends to jump off more compared to others with squared up. Also possesses quality catch-and-throw skills; 1.93-2.06 pop times and a 76 mph C velocity.
+ SS Dalton Dardin (Grissom, 2027) has certainly caught some helium over the past six months in terms of positional upside and continued to elevate his stock at this event. A 6-foot-0, 156-pounder, Dardin is a smooth-swinging left-handed hitter who controls the levers well in the swing while showcasing a clean, direct path to contact. The swing repeats well with consistent contact to all-fields using an upward path through contact. Posted a 92.9 mph EV. Still plenty of projection left in the offensive profile and projects to stick on the left side of the infield with throws up to 89 mph across.
+ 1B Bennett Green (Northside, 2027) is an under-the-radar rising junior who really impressed our scouts this spring and did more than enough to elevate his status with his showing at this event. An athletic, strong 5-foot-11, 211-pounder, Green is a multi-sport prospect who plays RB on the gridiron and displays a physical left-handed swing with big impact-ability. A more unique, active stance, but works square quickly and looks to hammer to the pull-side gap on level path with advanced bat and hand speed. Syncs up well in the swing and stays connected. Flashed big juice with multiple HRs in the round and a top EV of 100.9 mph. Also a 7.15-runner.
+ RHP Bryant Hardin (Moody, 2026) has some intriguing components on the mound with a long 6-foot-5, 170-pound build and a quality three-pitch mix. Moves well on the rubber for his size with good pace in the delivery. FB consistently ranged 86-87 mph with spin rates north of 2300 RPM and consistent 18-20 in. of IVB. Shows some natural arm-side life and ride to the pitch. Spins the SL at 74-76 mph with tight, horizontal shape and turns over a fading CH at 73-75 mph as the primary secondary offerings. Long and loose arm action with good whip. Plenty to like in terms of projection and stuff.
+ C Sam Prier (Oak Mountain, 2026) continues to assert himself as one of the top uncommitted left-handed bats in Alabama's 2026 class. A 5-foot-11, 173-pounder, Prier has an athletic frame with some quality strength showing in the swing and offensive profile. Has a medium leg kick with some coil to the load, and works the barrel on an upward path through contact to find consistent pull-side barrels and flashes of more future power. Has some natural lift in the swing to help get the ball elevated for higher exits. More gap-to-gap approach with 95.9 mph EV. Versatile defender who can play a number of positions.
+ OF/LHP Houston Hartsfield (Briarwood Christian, 2026) is one of the top uncommitted two-way prospects in Alabama's 2026 class and showcases fairly equal upside on both sides of the ball. A lean, athletic 6-foot-2, 168-pounder, Hartsfield possesses a quick left-handed stroke that uses quick hands and a strong top-hand to help turn the barrel with some authority on an upward path. Posted a 95.8 mph EV and was up to 90 mph from the OF. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch while peppering the zone with a 84-86.6 mph FB that showcases tailing action. The SL is firm with tight spin and short, minimal break sitting 77-79 mph and also turns over an 80-81 mph CH well. Repeatable, athletic operation.
+ 1B James Au (Hoover, 2026) has seemed to just live on the barrel the past six months after serving as a key middle-of-the-order producer for the Bucs in the spring. Carrying that into the summer, the 6-foot-3, 231-pound left-handed bat continues to hammer loud contact to both gaps while showing a quick, level swing and the ability to back-spin the baseball to the power alleys. Uses the strength well in the swing to be able to impact the baseball with relative ease, recording a top EV of 98.1 mph and a max distance of 369 ft. Carries over the performance to in-game, where he starred at the Yellowhammer State Games last month.
+ OF/RHP Tate Farrell (St. Paul's Episcopal, 2026) is another name-to-know uncommitted two-way prospect in Alabama's 2026 class. Measuring in at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds, Farrell showcases quick hands a smooth, repeatable left-handed swing that found consistent firm contact in his round of BP. Possesses a line-drive approach with the ability to manipulate the barrel and stay well-balanced in the swing. Posted a 92.3 mph EV. On the mound, the right-hander has an athletic operation and hides the ball well in the delivery using a short, H 3/4 arm slot. The FB lived 83-85 mph and topped at 85.3 mph with good command and spun a downer CB at 73-75 mph with 2421 RPM. Turns over the CH well at 75-76 mph with fading action. Repeats the delivery and found the zone consistently with all three pitches.
+ OF Jayse Hallman (Northside, 2027) ranked near the top of most statistical categories while showing a quality set of tools packed into an athletic 5-foot-11, 183-pound frame. From the left side of the plate, the rising junior creates some leverage in the swing with driving balls to the pull-side gap consistently in his round of BP, peaking at 97.3 mph. Shows easy, athletic actions in the swing with an upward path. Still some projection left in the profile. Also clocked a 7.01 60-yard dash, the best from the event.
