Uncommitted Spotlight: '26 Jesse Inouye
July 7, 2025
The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Hawaii staff has officially wrapped up the Hawaii State Games, which featured over 100 players from across the state. The event brought together a strong group of uncommitted talent who showed well across all areas of the game. From the workout to live gameplay, there was no shortage of standout performances, and several players made a strong impression as they head into the rest of the summer.
As we continue our coverage, we’re kicking off our Uncommitted Spotlight Series—where we’ll take a closer look at some of the top performers from the event. With updated stats, data, and video now added to player profiles, these prospects have taken another step forward in tracking their progress and getting their game out there. This series will highlight what they showed at the event and why they stood out to our staff.
We continue highlighting summer standouts with ‘26 Jesse Inouye. The MIF turned in one of the top all-around performances at the Hawaii State Games, posting some standout numbers along the way. He ran the third-best 60-yard dash at the event with a 6.84, showcasing his range up the middle and giving him clear base-stealing potential. Defensively, Inouye showed off some of the cleanest actions in the field, moving well in all directions with natural feel. His athleticism easily carries over to the box, and he fits the “gamer” label to a tee. As we mentioned in our Quick Hits piece, Inouye is an under-the-radar name we don’t expect to stay that way much longer.
This article will take a closer look at some of Inouye's recent metrics, scouting reports, and videos from previous events, including the Hawaii State Games.

Scouting Report
Jesse Inouye, Waiakea (HI), 2026
Positional Profile: 2B/SS One of my favorite Hawaii players, fun-to-watch 2026 who can do a little bit of everything w/+energy, +makeup & goes all out in every facet of game, solid DI recruit
Body: 5-5, 136-pounds. Compact build, good overall strength for age, ath look
Hit: RHH. Strong base, good set-up, hands at ear, rocks back to load, quick bat, compact/short/direct swing, takes a big-man's hack w/pretty one-handed finish
Power: More pop than looks now w/plenty of room for added strength, see more as a 2B's/gap pwr guy but could hit for some pwr in end w/current aggressive swing & approach
Arm: RH. INF-77 mph. OF-80 mph. Strong arm for age, good arm action & lets it go, not afraid to cut it loose, should end up with plenty of arm for left side, may end up above-avg for 2B
Defense: High-energy in field, bounce in step, good jumps/reads & range, chance to stay at SS but 2B may be best position, outside shot at C if arm improves for super UTL value
Run: Low runner, strong stride, runs hard, run still shot at improving w/strength gains & speed training
