This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.
Damien Nolan is a right-handed pitcher and third baseman from St. Mary’s College Prep. Nolan, standing 6-foot-1, is ranked as the nineteenth best right handed pitcher in the state.
This season for the Panthers, Nolan excelled both in the batter’s box and on the mound.
At the plate, Nolan was all over pitchers, hitting .421 with 40 hits and 27 runs batted in. Additionally, Nolan had 18 extra-base hits, four of which were from the long ball.
On the bump, Nolan fanned 45 batters in just 40.2 innings pitched. The hurler held opponents to a .212 batting average and a .370 on base percentage.
At the NorCal Future Games Tryout, Nolan was a standout of the day on both sides of the ball.
Nolan’s fastball had the second highest max velocity, clocking it at 87.8 MPH. The fastball also registered the highest average spin rate, measuring out at 2342 RPM.
Nolan’s change-up also impressed. The pitch had the second best induced vertical break (5.3 inches) and third most horizontal movement (10.5 inches).
Offensively, Nolan’s 103.9 MPH exit velocity was the third highest of the day. Nolan also had the second farthest ball hit of the day, hitting the ball a whopping 395 ft.
Whether it’s as a pitcher or hitter, Nolan will be a must see talent in LakePoint later this month.
“Overall, his combination of raw power, arm strength, and two-way upside makes him a high-follow prospect for the 2027 class. Nolan is also coming back from an arm injury and was only on a 15 pitch count, a fun arm to follow when he’s back to throwing full time.”- Hank LoForte, Associate Director NorCal
