The summer is in full swing and the Prep Baseball Nevada staff has hosted several events, all featuring some very talented uncommitted prospects. The events we have wrapped up so far this summer consist of the Las Vegas Rising Stars Games/Top Prospect Games on May 28th with a ton of upcoming talent on hand, and the Reno Top Prospect Games, featuring a strong group of prospects from all classes.
Our staff has had eyes on hundreds of players this summer, including an in-depth look at those who performed at our events. As the summer continues, we will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted prospects in Nevada who made strong impressions, with our Uncommitted Spotlight Series.
We continue our Uncommitted Summer Spotlights with ‘26 SS/RHP Mickey Martinez. At the Wow Factor Scout Day, Martinez put together a standout all-around showing that caught our staff’s attention. He posted a 6.87 60-yard dash and showed off his athleticism with an 86 mph arm from both the infield and outfield. At the plate, the 6-foot-3, 152-pound two-way prospect consistently found the barrel throughout his BP round, averaging 88 mph in exit velocity. On the mound, Martinez also emerged as one of the top arms at the event. He worked with a well-commanded fastball that has touched 90 mph in previous outings, and paired it with a sharp 75 mph slider that featured up to -9.5 inches of horizontal movement. With his two-way upside, athletic tools, and feel for the game on both sides of the ball, Martinez is shaping up to be a name to know among uncommitted prospects in the 2026 class.
