Summer Spotlight: '27 Jonah Brub
June 27, 2025
The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Hawaii staff has officially wrapped up the Hawaii State Games, which featured over 100 players from across the state. The event brought together a strong group of uncommitted talent who showed well across all areas of the game. From the workout to live gameplay, there was no shortage of standout performances, and several players made a strong impression as they head into the rest of the summer.
As we continue our coverage, we’re kicking off our Uncommitted Spotlight Series—where we’ll take a closer look at some of the top performers from the event. With updated stats, data, and video now added to player profiles, these prospects have taken another step forward in tracking their progress and getting their game out there. This series will highlight what they showed at the event and why they stood out to our staff.
We continue highlighting summer standouts with '27 Jonah Brub. The C/RHP had a strong showing at the Hawaii State Games, where he recorded the event’s top pop time at 1.90 and the highest catcher velocity at 78 mph. He also posted an 88 mph infield velocity and ran a 7.09 60-yard dash, resulting in one of the top overall defensive performances of the event. At the plate, Brub turned in a loud round of batting practice, posting a max exit velocity of 101.1 mph and averaging 96.2 mph, consistently finding the barrel throughout his session. Brub has also been effective on the mound and will join Team Hawaii in July to pitch at the Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex.
This article will take a closer look at some of Brubs's recent metrics, scouting reports, and videos from previous events, including the Hawaii State Games.
