This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Wyatt McElree is a RHP/SS from Redwood High School. Standing 6-foot-2, McElree is the reigning East Yosemite League Pitcher of the Year.

Across 29 innings, McElree fanned 39 batters, going 5-0 on the year.

The righty also shows potential two-way potential, showing promise both at the plate and defesnively as a middle infielder.

At the Sacramento Preseason ID, McElree was ranked as the third best overall prospect on the day.

McElree impressed at the plate with a max exit velocity of 92 MPH and a 311-foot max batted distance.

On the bump, McElree displayed his three pitch mix, including a fastball that topped out at 87 MPH. 

McElree’s curveball had the highest average spin rate on the day, registering at an event best 2641 RPM.

The righty’s change-up also showed promise with an event best 2290 RPM.

McElree’s athleticism and positional flexibility provides Team NorCal with a much needed sparkplug, both in the batter’s box and on the mound.
