Future Games Tryout: Los Angeles - Player Analysis

On Saturday, May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Future Games Tryout: Los Angeles at Mira Costa HS in Manhattan Beach, Cal. This was an invite-only event for 2027s, and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

Over 30 players made their way to Mira Costa HS and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

We've posted a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting more of the traditional statistical categories, as well as a Quick Hits, highlighting some of the event's top performers.

Today, we’re taking a look at all of the scouting reports from the event, including a Top-10 overall from the day.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. J. Beckett Berg, Notre Dame (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Power bat that has deep projection as a two-way talent.
Body: 6-4, 195-pounds. Tall, athletic, firm build with present upper and lower half.
Delivery: Glove starts high then drops below belt. Slow, building delivery. Lands tall after release. Decent hip-hand separation.
Arm Action: RH. Low 3/4 arm slot. Jab arm path. Short arm release with heavy recoil. Whip-like arm action.
FB: T89, 88-89 mph. Two-seam movement. Commands away to hitters often. T2308, 2251 average rpm.
CB: 78-80 mph. Sharp, firm breaking action. Good feel for pitch. T2631, 2584 average rpm.
SL: 80-80 mph. Sharp horizontal break. T2500, 2494 average rpm.
CH: 81-81 mph. T1788, 1745 average rpm.
CUT: 86-86 mph.
