Top Prospect Games San Marcos: Quick Hits

On Tuesday June 17th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: San Marcos, an invite-only event for the class of 2026-2028.
More than 35 players made their way to Texas State University and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We've already posted a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting more of the traditional statistical categories, as well as data dives for both the position players and the pitchers.
Today, we will be providing scouting notes and videos on the top performers from the event.

Aiden Verette | 2026 | Smithson Valley | 1B
Strong frame with room to add strength. Showed advanced bat speed and impact potential with a 100 mph exit velocity. Displays bat strength and the ability to drive the ball when on time. Continues to refine approach. Solid defender at first base. Has proven to be a dangerous HS hitter.
Aaron Castillo | 2028 | Veterans Memorial | C
Well-built young catcher with strength potential. Impressive in-game receiving skills. Consistent workout pop times (1.94–2.06) with noticeable carry on throws. Offensively, shows good extension through the zone with developing impact ability. One of the more polished 2028 catchers seen.
Jackson Reagan | 2026 | Conroe | C/2B
Athletic frame with room to add strength. Projects well physically with defensive versatility. Showed workout pop times of 1.82–1.93. Offensively, displayed a mature approach and consistently found the barrel for line-drive contact. Primary catcher profile with upside as he adds strength.

Walker Anderson | 2026 | Franklin | C/SS
Strong lower half with a durable catcher’s frame. Athletic mover, ran a 6.69 60. Posted pop times of 1.91–2.10 with clean in-game receiving. Flashed fair actions at shortstop and played with high energy and effort. Consistent hard contact with a compact swing. High-makeup player who competes.
Bentley Blinka | 2026 | Victoria East | INF/OF
Highly projectable frame with present athleticism. Ran a 6.79 60 and showed two-way defensive value. Covered ground well in the outfield with CF ability, while also showing range on the dirt. 100 mph exit velocity points to emerging offensive impact.

Nicholas Smith | 2026 | Mansfield Timberview | MIF
Strong, athletic build with room for more strength. Posted a 6.84 60 and moved well on both sides of the ball. Defensively showed body control and agility. Quality at-bats in game play with consistent hard contact. Trending up with each viewing.
Chase Bradley | 2026 | The Woodlands | C/OF
Solid frame with room for added strength. 7.01 runner. Showed reliable in-game receiving with pop times of 1.91–2.01 in workouts (2.10 in-game with accuracy). Found the barrel consistently, with more impact to come as his approach sharpens.
Jordan Benjamin | 2026 | Weiss | CF
Athletic frame with room to add strength. WAA-level runner, 6.47 60. Covers ground in CF with range and athletic actions. Projects to an average arm. At the plate, shows a quality approach geared toward contact; hit-over-power profile at present.
Evan Waters | 2027 | Victoria East | MIF
Lean, athletic frame that will benefit from added strength. Above-average runner (6.75 60). Showed infield actions with body control and agility. Offensively displayed line-drive contact with a solid approach. Power should come with physical development.
Bentley Seeberger | 2027 | Lubbock Cooper | C/OF
Strong frame with more physical growth to come. Ran a 7.00 60. Posted workout pop times of 1.93–2.12 and received well in-game. Offensively, flashes the ability to impact the baseball when on time. Just beginning to tap into his potential—high upside.

Ian Palacios | 2026 | Tompkins | 3B/1B
Projectable frame with good strength potential. Clean defensive actions with soft hands and an average arm. 6.84 runner. Swing works well with consistent contact, and offensive impact will increase as he develops his lower half. Intriguing upside.
Miles Horton | 2026 | Katy | C/2B
Athletic frame with strength coming. 6.98 60. Caught well during game action. Pop times ranged 1.87–1.94 in workout. Quality BP rounds with offensive impact potential and a solid approach. Continues to make strides in overall development.
Kayden Mansell | 2026 | Lakeridge | RHP
Strong, athletic build with good lower half. Stretch-only delivery with repeatable mechanics and some arm length. Sat 87–88 with carry, flashes feel for a slider (2200 spin). Command was fair this outing. Projectable velocity with arm speed.

Cole Johnson | 2026 | Pieper | LHP
Sturdy frame with strength to come. Repeatable delivery with a clean arm path. Effective strike thrower with feel for all pitches. FB topped at 85, worked both sides. CH had sink and deception, while CB and SL showed action. Profiles as a pitchability lefty.
Austin Lade | 2026 | Homeschool | RHP
Athletic, projectable frame. Clean arm action with a repeatable delivery. FB touched 88 with late tail. CH (80) showed sink and deception; CB (74) added to a solid mix. Strike thrower with projection to his stuff. Trending up.

Projectable body that will continue to fill out. Loose, fast arm with effort. FB up to 91 with late arm-side life. SL at 78–79 showed spin and feel. Already showing advanced velocity with more in the tank. Big upside in the 2027 class.
