This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Elyjah Mason is a right-handed throwing, left-handed hitting third baseman and outfielder from Huntington Beach High. Mason, standing 6-foot-2, is ranked as the best third baseman in the state.

At the Future Games tryout in Fullerton, all of Mason’s talents were on full display. Mason was raked as the second best overall prospect of the event.

Mason’s 6.66 sixty yard dash was the fastest on the day.

The smooth lefty swing generated a 89.8 MPH max exit velocity and a 337’ max batted distance.

Additionally, Mason showed promise defensively with his impressive athleticism and fast hands. 

In his opportunites for Huntington Beach this season, Mason was sound both offensively and defensively.

One of his best performances came against Edison High School on April 30th. Mason went 4-5 on the day, including a stand-up triple.

With his blistering speed, defensive abilities, and powerful lefty swing, Mason has the potential to make some noise at LakePoint later this month.

“A late addition to the event, Mason made arguably the biggest case for making Team SoCal at the Future Games. His BP was two rounds of barrels that sprayed the gaps with line drives. But, it was during the game where Mason put it all together and really stood out. He started with a standup triple to the right center field gap that was 96mph off the bat, he followed with a walk and a double to the left center field gap that was 92mph off the bat. Simple and rhythmic stroke at the plate with a knack for getting the barrel to the ball consistently.”- California Scouting Staff
