QUICK HITS

Hayes Huggins SS / RHP / Oxford High School, MS / 2027Huggins gave us a glimpse of his dual role possibilities on Tuesday during his batting practice round and bullpen session. The 6-2, 170 pound rising junior used a middle to pull side approach to connect on liners up to 92 mph off of Trackman. He also worked his running fastball up to 85 mph with arm side action while showing good feel for the strike zone and an advanced secondary arsenal. |

Aaron Harris SS / RHP / CALEDONIA HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2028Another up and coming prospect in the 2028 class, Harris has plenty more room to add strength to his 6-2, 152 pound frame. He moves with fluidity and has a solid foundation in multiple phases of the game. The swing plays well now though more power will come eventually and elevate his production. |

Cade Ferguson RHP / OF / Oxford, MS / 2027The 5-9, 160 pounder doesn’t have the large frame recruiters dream on but he definitely has some spunk to him. The Oxford high school righty uses a very quick arm to berate fastball velocities up to 85 mph with a pretty good feel for the zone. He can kill the spin with the change up and it mimics his fastball arm action well, though a still developing pitch. He uses both a slider and curveball and both are advanced when looking at shape and the ability to make them playable pitches. |

Sutton Gore LHP / OF / Bruce High School, MS / 2028Gore has plenty of upside and we are very interested in seeing how overall body maturity affects his ability over the next calendar year. The 5-10, 134 pounder’s arm is loose and has some whip. The frame is very lean and wiry. The Bruce product has a feel for his change up (1206 spin) already and it shows signs of being a plus pitch in his arsenal. Can’t wait to see his progression. |

Braylon Edwards SS / Madison Central, MS / 2028One of the better true switch hitting prospects we’ve seen this summer. Edwards shows lots of similarities on both sides of the plate with a line drive, gap to gap approach with exit velocities into the mid 90’s. He also runs well (6.89 60) and should get a tic quicker that will help with range on the infield. He has instincts and looks to be a player that may end up getting time in the outfield as well. |

Doug Smith RHP / SS / Cathedral, MS / 2027The 6-4, 195 pound Natchez Cathedral product had a solid all-around event on Tuesday at Oxford. His best performance may have been at the plate where the right handed hitter peppered several baseballs into the left center gap showing slight lift to his swing. In time, with added strength and explosiveness those baseballs may find their way over the wall. Smith performed well on defense as well with a sure glove and accurate arm that’s also maturing. |

Carlos Robinson OF / South Panola, MS / 2026Robinson has been to a few previous events and due to weather hasn’t been able to run the 60. Well he made up for it on Tuesday registering a blistering 6.47 60. He has plenty of tools and is somehow still available. At the plate, Robinson works the middle to pull side with liners and exit velocities up to 93 mph. He looks very comfortable in the outfield and can cover the gaps very well which should make pitchers at the next level very happy. |
