Uncommitted Spotlight: Ian Murasaki
July 10, 2025
The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Hawaii staff has officially wrapped up the Hawaii State Games, which featured over 100 players from across the state. The event brought together a strong group of uncommitted talent who showed well across all areas of the game. From the workout to live gameplay, there was no shortage of standout performances, and several players made a strong impression as they head into the rest of the summer.
As we continue our coverage, we’re kicking off our Uncommitted Spotlight Series—where we’ll take a closer look at some of the top performers from the event. With updated stats, data, and video now added to player profiles, these prospects have taken another step forward in tracking their progress and getting their game out there. This series will highlight what they showed at the event and why they stood out to our staff.
We continue highlighting summer standouts with ‘26 Ian Murasaki. The incoming senior turned in a strong showing at the Hawaii State Games and has made noticeable strides since attending the Hawaii Preseason Invitational earlier this year. In just five months, Murasaki has improved across the board, posting gains in several key metric categories. His 60-yard time dropped by nearly 0.2 seconds, and his average exit velocity jumped close to 10 mph. Defensively, he stood out with clean actions and the ability to move fluidly in all directions. It was a solid all-around performance from the MIF, and as his numbers continue trending upward, he’s shaping up to be a prospect to keep an eye on heading into his senior year.
This article will take a closer look at some of Murasaki's recent metrics, scouting reports, and videos from previous events, including the Hawaii State Games.
