This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Standing 6-foot-1, Davis Wilson is a right-handed flamethrower from Clovis North High School. The second ranked RHP in all of California is also ranked as the seventh best RHP in the country, climbing up the ranks after an impressive sophomore campaign for Clovis North.

Wilson lights up the radar gun with his 93 MPH fastball, while featuring a strong curveball, wipeout slider, and a sharp cutter.

One of his best outings for Clovis North came against Centennial on March 25th. Across four innings, Wilson struck out four batters, only allowing one hit and inheriting no earned runs.

At the 2025 NorCal ProCase, Wilson displayed his impressive arsenal. Wilson’s cutter reached a spin rate of 2,000 RPM, and his fastball reached a max IVB of 18.7. In the live portion, Wilson fanned five of the six batters he faced, proving why he is one of the best rising stars in the country.

Wilson has a strong case to be the first pitcher to take the pill for Team NorCal’s inaugural appearance at Future Games. The use of his arsenal, knowledge of the game, and smart pitch tunneling will more than likely have scouts on the edge of their seats when he takes the mound.

“Just talking to him [Wilson] on the side, he’s a great kid, talks with a lot of confidence, but the best part is he actually has a personality. I’ve only had the chance to see Wilson throw once this season and that was about two months ago. All eyes were locked in on Wilson as he was set up during his warm up pitches, five batters later Wilson ended up with five strikeouts. The kid can flat out pitch and his knowledge of how to pitch is even more impressive. Wilson had made a comment about how much better his Cutter has gotten since the season and he wasn’t lying one bit. It almost looks like a slider at times but when Wilson puts a little extra on it, the hard/late action creates a lot of swing and miss from the hitters. Wilson has electric stuff and will only continue to grow and get better. I'm a huge fan of the fastball and cutter, Wilson has got a shot to be a real high quality arm in the whole country.”- Hank LoForte, Associate Director NorCal
