Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations from high school coaches statewide. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards and to the coaches for their nominations.

Additionally, we will continue our Alabama Diamond Notes, released every Wednesday, to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Mizuno Week 3 Player of the Week

Jordon Lankford OF / RHP / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 8 Geraldine shortstop Jordon Lankford has been named the Mizuno Player of the Week after an outstanding performance at the plate, going 9-for-13 (.692) with two triples, a double, seven RBIs, nine runs scored, four walks, and a hit-by-pitch, resulting in an impressive .737 on-base percentage. Lankford, the No. 21 prospect in Alabama’s 2028 class, played a pivotal role in leading Geraldine to a perfect 4-0 record for the week. His ability to consistently get on base and drive in runs underscores his status as one of the top young talents in the state.
