The Arkansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 3, opening day for regular season action under AAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Arkansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK

Top Returners:
- LHP/1B/OF Rylan Jones (2025; ASU Mountain Home) - 6'4", 225
- Rylan is coming off an ACL injury last year, however as a Sophomore he hit .480.
- RHP/3B/SS Asa Myers (2026) - 6'0", 210
- Number 1 pitcher for us last year. Mid 80's FB, throws 4 pitches for strikes, hit .300 last year.
- SS Matt Bartels (2025) - 5'11", 185
- Starting SS hit .300 last year. Plus runner.
- C/P Luke Weatherley (2027) - 5'10", 200
- Luke missed 1/2 season last year due to injury. As a Freshmen he was starting catcher and logged innings on the mound before injury. Upper 87-89 MPH FB, Throws 4 pitches for strikes. Pop time 1.9

Coach’s Insight: “Hopefully starting 4 Freshmen last year in the tough 6A conference will give them confidence this year. We will be strong at Catcher and should be a better hitting team. We will have some team speed. We will be a young team again this year. We have 20 out of 28 are Freshmen or Sophomores ” – Mark Dobson, head coach
