CARY, NC—Sunday marked the final day of USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars with the Brave defeating the Stripes in the gold medal game. After the championship, 40 players were named to the trials roster for the 18U National Team, which will begin Tuesday. There were also 10 alternates named.

Below are quick notes on those selected to the 40-man roster, plus a few highlights from the final day of action…

Carter Aldrete, IF, Monterey HS, CA (Arizona State)
Stood out on defense with good range, athleticism and quick release

Jacob Amaya, IF, South Hills HS, CA (Cal State Fullerton)
Quick bat, squared several balls up. Good actions and arm strength

Michael Amditis, C, Boca Raton HS, FL (Miami)
Simple, direct swing at the plate with strong arm behind it
