Draft League Spotlight: Beau Balado

A transfer from New Orleans-based Delgado CC, Balado has pitched out of the bullpen exclusively during his Colonels career. The senior left-hander has turned in his finest work so far in 2021, posting a 1.00 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 and 2.62 ERA over his first 24 frames (17 appearances). At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Balado has the frame to start and has proven to be effective in multi-inning outings, mixing an 89-94 mph fastball with a slider and changeup. He’s thrown more strikes in 2021 after averaging a shade over 4.0 BB/9 from 2019-20.
