Dan Cevette
Director, New York

The high school season is almost here with practices around the state now in full-swing, with scrimmages and games soon to come. Over the course of the past two-years our boots-on-the-ground scouting team have worked tirelessly gathering and compiling player data, nearly 12-months out of the year. Through the high school season, our top-flight events, and the travel baseball scene, we have been able to piece together the Empire State's most thorough, and accurate player rankings. Let's take a look at the best-of-the-best in the 2017 class.

The Updated and Expanded 2017 player rankings serve as a reminder of how good the talent here in New York actually is. Eight of the top 10 players in the updated rankings are all headed to major D1 programs, 14 of the top 20 are headed to the division-one level as well. This update expands from the previous top 75 to now over 100 in the state. The coveted top 10 spots welcome a new No. 1 overall, a few interchanges, and a newcomer as well. The freshly updated rankings produced several shake-ups, moves, and newcomers to the expanded list. Let's take a deeper dive inside the 2017 player rankings in New York.

New to the No. 1 spot in the 2017 player rankings is OF Quentin Holmes (Msgr. McClancy).
