2026 Wetumpka Indians Team Preview
January 14, 2026
The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.
Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.
*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK
Wetumpka enters the 2026 season coming off an 18–15 campaign in 2025 that ended with a first-round playoff loss to Saraland. The Indians leaned heavily on a mostly young roster last spring, and that group showed growth as the season progressed. With many of those contributors returning older and more experienced, Wetumpka heads into 2026 positioned for another strong season in Class 6A.
The Indians return a senior-heavy core expected to anchor both the lineup and pitching staff. C Logan Fawcett (Gadsden State CC, 2026) returns as a key offensive piece and provides experience behind the plate. On the mound, LHP Asher Nobles (Reid State CC, 2026) brings extensive varsity experience and is expected to be counted on again as a primary arm. UTL Aidan Peake (Reid State CC, 2026) returns as a versatile option capable of contributing in multiple roles, while LHP Owen Pyles (Huntingdon College, 2026) adds another experienced left-handed arm expected to play a productive role this season. In the outfield, OF Bo Bo Browning (2026) returns after being limited by injury last year and is expected to provide leadership and stability in center field. The junior and underclass groups add further depth across the roster. SS/RHP Miller Lombardi (2027) returns as a two-way contributor who will be asked to pitch and play in the infield, while LHP Dylan Jordan (2028) brings additional left-handed pitching depth and is expected to be a significant piece moving forward. Additional upperclass contributors include OF Kyle Richardson (2026), INF Peyton Dickey (2026), and INF Connor Jacks (2027), all of whom provide experience and roster flexibility. Behind the plate, C Thomas Xeingsen (2029) returns as an underclass option who adds depth as the season progresses.
Maturity and experience define Wetumpka’s outlook entering the 2026 season. With a roster that is older, more battle-tested, and hungry to compete, the Indians expect to play with increased consistency throughout the spring. As head coach Russ Brooks noted, “We are older and more mature and we are looking forward to the season. We just hope to be playing good, hard-nosed baseball when it matters the most.” With last season’s experience serving as a foundation, Wetumpka enters 2026 aiming to take a step forward and compete throughout Class 6A.
