+ OF/LHP Hudson Oliver (Guntersville, 2028) continues to solidify himself as one of the premier talents in the 2028 class, putting his well-rounded skill set on display Monday night. Hitting out of the leadoff spot, the freshman set the tone early, battling back from behind in the count to work it full before driving an outer-half fastball the other way for a single. He wasted no time making an impact on the bases, swiping second a few pitches later. At the plate, Oliver features a clean bat path with a slight late tilt, generating backspin and carry to both gaps. His hand speed stands out, working through a simple, direct path that allows him to handle both early and deep counts with a mature, disciplined approach. In the seventh inning, he showcased his bat speed again, barreling a center-cut fastball back up the middle. A high-level athlete, Oliver’s 6.8 speed was on full display, swiping three bases with ease. Defensively, he made two highlight-reel plays in center field, demonstrating advanced instincts with excellent jumps off the bat and the ability to track balls over his head. There’s plenty to like in this highly regarded 2028 prospect.
