Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Nate Shoemaker
March 25, 2025
The winter schedule has come to a close as the season has gotten underway across the State over the past weekend. The 2025 regular season is well underway and beyond the game coverage so far, our staff ran through our Preseason Schedule that featured four events, highlighted by the Upperclass and Underclass Preseason All-State events that featured top prospects within their respective classes.
Our staff had eyes on over 250 players during the month's of January and February and our staff will continue to break it all down over the next month. With all of the talent that came through our showcases over the past two months, our we will begin spotlighting top uncommitted prospects who ran through our workout ahead of the high school season.
We continue our Top Uncommitted Spotlight Series with a look at '25 3B/OF Nate Shoemaker of Catalina Foothills HS. Shoemaker is one of the top unsigned outfielders in the senior class and showed well at the West Coast Games back in October.

Scouting Report
Shoemaker swung one of the hottest bats on the day, putting up some loud swings during BP and followed it up with a pair of doubles in the scrimmage. Right-handed hitter with a quiet setup and looks the part in the box at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds. The power projects and he’s already able to hit the gaps with relative ease, as well as find the barrel in-game. Top exit velocity of 97.1mph and average of 89.2mph. Performed well defensively with a good glove and was 80mph across the diamond. Could end up at a corner position as he continues to fill out and add strength. Good start to the 2023 season for the uncommitted prospect out of Catalina Foothills.
Positional Profile: SS/3B

Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 82.1 MPH. 350' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph.Short over the top action, came out of the hand well with accuracy to the bases.

Nate Shoemaker, Catalina Foothills (AZ), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/RHP Great build with high upside offensively. Will follow athletic development.
Body: 6-2, 182-pounds. Advanced size and strength for his age along with ability that we expect to take off with reps and refinement.
Hit: RHH. Sets up at the plate with a strong base that is slightly open, with a bend in the knees. He's got a clear inside path to the baseball, with a high rate of line drive contact. His max exit velo posted on Saturday was 94 mph, with a max distance of 335 feet. Handling balls best on the inner half of the plate. With more at bats and maturity, we expect Shoemaker to be able to handle the ball on the outer half with more success than was shown on this day.
Power: 93.6 max exit velocity, averaged 81.5 mph. 335’ max distance. High rate of line drive contact.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Arm strength will play from the left side, as his ball had good four seam carry with a 75 mph INF velo.
