The 2025 California high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across California.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective CIF Section Championship Game, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across California. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings.

BOTTOM LINE

Offense will be key to the success for the Spartans in 2025 with 5 returning pieces from their 2024 lineup fronted by Aidan Young and Nate Lewis as the key pieces to making the offense go. Add in a strong defensive group if the Spartans are able to throw the ball to their potential on the mound the have a chance to put together a very strong season.

"Pitching, defense, and timely hitting have been staples of Burt Call coached teams for as long as he's been a head coach and you can expect more of the same from the 2025 Villa Park Spartans. With a lineup that features several key returning pieces, the Spartans will go as far as their pitching rotation will take them. They should be able to score runs in bunches in what will be a very competitive Crestview League once again, and should once again find themselves in the mix for a league title at the end of the season. If the quality sophomores can produce in time for league play, the Spartans will in prime position for another playoff push." - Les Lukach, State Scouting Director
