Scouting Report
The high-ceiling left-hander sat 85-87 with the fastball and there was command of the pitch. He was firing strikes during the entire outing with all of his pitches. He also worked with a 12-6 curveball at 72-75 mph and a changeup at 78 mph. There was good feel for the change and he did a great job of mixing his speeds on Friday.
When you look at the way he moves on the mound from the left side, along with his stuff and strike throwing ability, it's hard to believe he's still uncommitted. Mejia will be a great late addition to any college program and will be ready to compete for innings once he steps on campus.
It was a good showing on Friday night from Mejia and he made a great first impression in 2022.
