Scouting Report
5-foot-11, 185-pound RHP with a strong and sturdy frame. Attacked the zone with a fastball at 86-88, topping at 89. He uses two off-speed pitches, a slider at 76-77 with some depth and a change-up at 76-79 with good arm speed. Fast-paced and compact delivery comes right after the hitter. With his mentality and work ethic, he should continue to progress.
Carson went 4 ⅔ innings, 7k’s, 1BB, and 3ER. Fastball sat 82-84mph, toppING out at 86mph with arm side run. Slider was 75-77mph with two-plane break that kept hitters off balance. Changeup sat 72-73mph. Carson settled into a rhythm after giving up 3 runs in the first. Good arm action with sound mechanics made for a repeatable delivery.
