CARY, NC—In an Orange County showdown, Dana Hills and Orange Lutheran of California faced off in the 2017 National High School Invitational championship. It was a tight affair with clutch pitching and defense on both sides. Orange Lutheran threw two Dana Hills runners out at the plate during the game and in the bottom of the sixth, OF Jasiah Dixon (Orange Lutheran HS, CA) was called on to pinch hit for the Lancers. With the bases loaded, he sent a fly ball to deep center field for a sacrifice fly, putting Orange Lutheran up 3-2. Dana Hills threatened in the top of the seventh, but defense again prevailed as Orange Lutheran turned a double play to seal the title.
