The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season, and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Florida.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the FHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Florida. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and releasing our preseason top-25 rankings in the state.

Each week, we will be releasing our Players of the Week, as well as updating our Power 25 overall rankings.

2025 Record (Finish): 15-10, Regional Semi (First Regional semi Final appearance in over 5 years, First District Championship in over five years.)

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS/TRANSFERS

Caleb Walker 2026 RHP: up to 90, threw 49 innings, 83 SO, .993 ERA, holds several JUCO offers in the panhandle. Has worked hard on having a true three-pitch mix.

Cooper Wiles 2027 MIF/Utility: 87 AB, .402 Average, 35 Hits, 11 2B, 3 3B, 5 HR, and 31 RBI. Has been my starting SS since freshman year and has hit in the 2-3 hole his entire career, excited to see the physical gains from hard work in the weightroom. Also had a .865 fielding percentage, has true gap-to-gap power, and excited to see what strides he takes going into his junior year.

Brandon Key 2026 OF/RHP: Missed Junior Season due to an ACL injury, our clubhouse leader and hardest worker in our program. Had a great summer travel ball season, great speed and arm, and is beginning to have gap-to-gap power.

Trey Roberts 2026 Catcher (Warner University Commit): 74 AB, .297 Average, 22 Hits, 2 Doubles, 15 RBI. Trey has been a utility player over the past two years on varsity, with us having Caleb Walsh as our starting catcher over the past few years. Trey will slide into his more predominant role behind the plate. Very athletic behind the plate, sub 2.0 pop time, and has been a solid middle of the line-up hitter for us.

Collin Campbell 2028 RHP/MIF: Collin started up the middle for us as a freshman. His biggest strength is on the mound, up to 88 mph, has a really good two-pitch mix with in the process of developing a change-up. Will be a big-time arm for us over the next few years.

Wiley Barfield 2028 IF/RHP: Wiley will be an impact player for us this year and will most likely be one of our top-performing two-way players. Has great barrel control at the plate and has been developing on the mound with a true three-pitch mix and up to 85 on the mound.

“We are in my third year of rebuilding this program at ACA. Each year we keep getting steps closer to our goal of having a chance to compete for a chance to go to the final four. I think this will be the first year we return depth and experience from last year's regional semi-final series vs Mayo. We have a mix of older experience and younger talent that I think could be really good.
