Sebring, FL—Since pitchers are rested and can air it out for two innings at the FACA All-Star Weekend, the position players are usually at a disadvantage from the time off and having to pick up a wood bat after having swung a metal bat all spring. However, the saying in scouting is hitters can hit. Here are notes on some hitters that stood out this weekend.

+ What stood out most was OF Daniel Reyes’ (Mater Academy, FL) batting practice session. He showed the biggest raw power of the weekend and took some aggressive hacks in the game, but will have to make more consistent contact, especially on breaking stuff, for his power to play.
