Georgia Dugout Club: Director's List - Week 2

Prep Baseball Georgia
Hudson Graham and Ian Smith

Emerson, GA: Week 2 of the Georgia Dugout Club is in the books. We got a chance to see tons of familier faces and found a lot of new players to follow. In our Director's List we will breakdown some of the players that made an impact. We had tons of uncommitted upperclass talent plus underclass names to follow.

Be sure to check out the scout blog released yesterday. It can be found HERE

We also releaed the All Tournament Team from the event and that can be found HERE.

Biggest Winner: Parker Hope, IF/C, 2027, Allatoona
Hope has been on a tear over the last couple of weeks. He has double digit hits between both Georgia Dugout appearances. Hope has solidified himself as one of the top bats in the Allatona line up. We got a chance to see him a lot of the summer/fall and had him circled as a potential breakout candidate this spring. He looks to hit early in the count and has great barrel control to expand with 2 strikes and hit touch pitches. He is versatile in the field and will be one to follow this rest of the spring and into the summer.

Favorite Hitter: Carson Snipes, OF, 2026, Marietta
Snipes is a guy we have been able to see a ton of the last couple of years. He continues to show up and show an above average hit tool that is going to keep him in line ups. He is a quick twitch athlete that has the ability to play any outfield spot. He runs the bases really well and explodes out of the box with an explosive 1st step. The added strength is going to come into play even more at the plate now, and he proved that this weekend with a pull side home run. The thing I love with Snipes is that his approach is middle away and will do damage if he gets a pitch on the inner half.

Favorite Pitcher: Carter Allen, RHP, 2027, Bremen
The last time we saw Allen was at Junior Future Games in 2023. He has been on the list to get out to see this spring and he got the start on Friday night of the Georgia Dugout Club tournament. He was one of the most impressive arms of the weekend. Standing at 6-foot-2 175-pounds its hard to not dream about the frame on the mound. He is coming off an all state year in football as a kicker/punter. The fastball was electric in the upper 80’s and great life/carry through the zone for heavy swing and miss. He tallied up 10 strikeouts across 4 innings. The delivery was smooth and athletic. He also had great feel for the breaking ball in the low 70’s Allen is going to be a high follow the rest of the spring and into the summer with the chance to be in the low 90’s really soon.

Sleeper to Know: Marshall Jackson, RHP, 2026, Brookwood
Jackson has been an arm we have gotten to see a handful of times over the summer. The velo has ticked up on the mound, getting up to 90 earlier in the year. The delivery is smooth and repeatable with a slower tempo to start, but really gets down the mound after the highest point of his leg lift. Jackson attacked the zone with an upper 80’s fastball and high spin curveball in the low to mid 70’s. He had 7 strikeouts in 5.2 innings and was in control his entire outing. Jackson is slowly becoming one of the stronger uncommitted arms in the state and will be relied on heavily for Brookwood to make another playoff run.

Underclass Impact: Luke Winbush, UTL, 2027, Pope
Winbush has been on a roll over the last couple months and was a standout at Preseason All-State at the plate, in the infield and behind the dish as a catcher. He had a huge freshman year at Pope, and is off to a hot start in 2025. We got to see him in a position we have never seen him at and that was on the mound. He got called on for the save in a 1 run again. He attacked the zone with a fastball in the mid 80’s topping out at 86. He could really spin the breaking ball with a 2700-2800 spin rate. The confidence he has at the plate translated onto the mound and he really looked the part. Look for Winbush to be another key arm in the Pope bullpen as they plan to make another run in 2025.

Huddy’s Standouts

  1. Wesley Dawson, RHP, 2027, Brookwood
  2. Haydenn Downes, OF, 2027 Carrollton
  3. Mason Archie, OF, 2025, Brookwood
  4. Kaleb Binion, OF/1B, 2026, Carrollton
  5. Cash Dunn, SS, 2027, East Paulding
