Macon Preseason ID Quick Hits

Davian Hammonds, OF, 2027, Houston County
Uncommitted. The newly touted Hoco outfielder put together a strong day across the board at Mercer. Boasts tons of athleticism and strength in a stout 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Came out and ran an event best 6.61 60 on a wet track backed by an explosive first step (1.60 10-yd). Hammonds carried it over into batting practice with a loud round as he posted the 2nd best Max EV of the event at 99.3. The barrel stays in the zone forever for the RHH backed by present hand/bat speed as he stays balanced through the zone and generates strength from the ground-up. Capped off his event by posting an outfield velo of 88 mph while showing solid footwork and low accurate throws to home. It was a fantastic look at Hammonds in all aspects and the junior looks poised to carry a major role with the Bears this Spring.

Nathan Taczy, 1B/OF, 2027, Lee County
Uncommitted. The Lee County junior offers a strong profile that was evident on Saturday afternoon. Physical, athletic 6-foot-2, 204-pound frame with present strength and a well-connected RH cut. Taczy opened the day with a 6.93 60 (2nd in event). The RHH found the barrel regularly in a loud round of batting practice as he worked from gap-to-gap with authority (Max EV: 96.9, Max distance: 336ft.). Compact path and stays balanced through the zone as he generates strength from the ground-up. Taczy brings a quality floor with some projection remaining and will be a good addition to any recruiting class at multiple levels.

Gabe Grubbs, MIF, 2027, Fitzgerald
Uncommitted. Grubbs was one of the big winners of the Fall circuit and he brought that momentum over into the Macon Preseason ID. Physical, broad-chested 5-foot-10, 198-pounds, Grubbs showed a polished approach at the dish with impact in the barrel during batting practice. Shifts weight well through impact with very minimal wasted effort from a potent RH cut and explosive hands in-zone. Sprayed the ball to all-fields with authority and posted a Max EV of 97.1. The actions stood out up-the-middle in the dirt as well with solid footwork, soft hands, and accurate throws across the diamond to first-base.

Cade Goodmark, RHP, 2027, Padeia
Uncommitted. It was our first look at Goodmark in the showcase setting and the uncommitted junior put together an impressive showing during his pen. Physical 6-foot-3, 204-pound frame with a stout lower half and moves really well down the mound. Works from a higher ¾ slot with present arm speed and repeatability in the delivery. Fastball was heavy at (2245 RPM) and sat 86-87 (T88 MPH). Slider showed bite at 75-77 and mixed in a quality changeup at 80-83. Goodmark will shoulder significant innings this Spring with Padeia and a jump into the low 90’s could certainly be looming.

Bobby Wooten, SS/OF, 2027, Stratford Academy
Uncommitted. Staff was much anticipated to see the tooled up 2027 from Stratford Academy and it was clear to see the talent from the jump. Wooten boasts tons of twitch and athleticism in a wiry 6-foot-0, 170-pound frame. Opened the day by clocking at a 7.03 60 and followed it with a quality round of batting practice. The RHH creates good length in-zone backed by twitchy hands and budding accuracy in the barrel for consistent Max EV barrels in the upper 80’s. Ended the day on defense with posting a tied event best IF Velo at 87 and a tied event best OF Velo at 90 along with excellent footwork and accurate throws. Wooten is armed with present loud tools and plenty more to project with a jump in production likely in ‘26.

Hudson Tittle, OF, 2027, Westminister
Uncommitted. Hudson Tittle showed great athleticism and ability throughout the day. The 5-foot-8 197-pound body frame allows for effortless power in his swing. Tittle showed comfort in the box while he was able to spray the ball to each part of the field. A natural, fundamental swing that put up a Max EV of 98 and Average EV of 90.8. Coupled with his impressive round, the Westminster OF showed great mobility and accuracy during throws, all being low and on line. The soon to be starting season is looking promising for the Junior Hudson Tittle.

George Breed, C/OF, 2027, Wayne County
Uncommitted. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound C/MIF George Breed stood out throughout the day. He had an impressive round of swings with a very mature, high-level swing. Maxing out at 94 EV and averaging 84.4, in addition to his great swing metrics project a successful spring with Wayne County. In the field, Breed showed above-average capabilities behind the dish and in the infield. His athletic ability was shown in all aspects of the game.

Connor Brett, MIF, 2029, Houston County
The left handed Connor Brett showed a gorgeous swing resulting in a great round at the plate and tested well in the middle infield. The lefty’s smooth swing stays in the zone for a long time. Brett’s load and swing are all one motion and his hands have a great path through the zone. The young MIF can bring great value to an exciting Houston County squad this upcoming spring.

Aidan Kulich RHP/3B, 2027, Pope
Uncommitted. Long, projectable 6-foot-3, 175 pound frame with room for added strength. Works with an easy, repeatable delivery that allows him to sit in his lower half and create consistent strikes. Fastball sits 82-84 mph and has been up to 86 mph, playing with solid carry through the zone. Secondary offerings show feel, with a developing breaking ball that flashes depth and a usable changeup, giving him a foundation to build on as the body continues to mature.

Gabe Galarza, SS.OF, 2027, Northside
Uncommitted. Compact, athletic 5-foot-9, 160 pound frame with quick twitch actions and an all-around feel for the game. Right-handed hitter sets up open with low, relaxed hands and uses a simple toe tap load, showing active hands and a quick, efficient swing. Barrel works cleanly through the zone with consistent hard contact, highlighted by a 94 mph max exit velocity. Defensively, shows quick, smooth glove actions with exceptional footwork, allowing him to consistently put himself in position to make plays. Athletic profile with upside remaining as the frame continues to mature.

Dylan Hobert, C/3B, 2027, Georgia Premier Academy
Uncommitted. Strong 5-foot-10, 190 pound frame with physical strength already present. Right-handed hitter works from a level stance with a small stride, using the lower half well to produce gap-to-gap power and consistent loft, highlighted by a 100 mph max exit velocity. Shows quick, efficient hands that get to the ball on time with impact contact potential. Defensively, sets up with a slightly open base and shows a clean hand-to-glove transfer.

Ethan Scott, MIF, 2027, Veterans
Uncommitted. Potential for growth is shown during the showcase event. Smooth fielder with accurate throws over to 1st. Forehand and backside glove above average with room for growth. Powerful drive to the baseball with a smooth compact swing.

Patrick Dalton, 2B/3B, 2028, St. Pius X
Love his upside. Beautiful lefty swing with consistent barrel ratio. Still growing and maturing physically which will allow him to consistently average higher exit velos. One of the more athletic infielders during the showcase displaying his glove covering good range with a solid arm.

Varrenza Baker Jr., OF/2B, 2028, Ola
Another young future player that has the potential to play at a high level. Right field seems like a natural fit for Varrenza. Strong plus arm and athletic build, still maturing physically. At the plate has consistent hard hit rates and sprays the entire field with line drives. One of the top arms in the OF groups.

Sawyer Gailey, RHP/OF, White County, 2027
Uncommitted. Threw one of the better pitching sessions of the day. Hard throwing righty with deception. Mid 80s fastball with a growing slider. Off-speed pitches are still a work in progress but I like the upside of his pitches to go along with his fastball.
