Rylan Long, C, Mount Paran, 2029
Uncommitted. One of the youngest players in the field, Rylan Long made his presence felt in every part of the game this past weekend. Serving primarily as the catcher for 643 DP Cougars 16U, he stood out defensively with advanced actions and intriguing arm strength on throws to the bases. At the plate, he brings a loose, athletic setup with a smooth toe-tap load, keeping his hands tight through the zone to generate impactful contact to all fields. He strung together quality at-bats all weekend, highlighted by a back-side triple at 93 EV in game one. Long is a rising talent in the 2029 class and a name worth tracking closely in the years ahead.
Kingston Jones, SS, Pope, 2028
Uncommitted. A 5-foot-11 athletic shortstop in the 2028 class, possesses an advanced defensive skill set with plus range and arm strength for the position. Kingston shows a quiet, composed approach at the plate, with quick hands and shows ability to wait for his pitch in various counts. Served as the leadoff hitter for the 643 DP Cougars 16U. His swing mechanics and lively bat speed continue to improve as he gets stronger and incorporates his lower half more. Jones displays above-average bat-to-ball skills and plate awareness that stand out amongst the class as well. He projects to continue maturing and could break out this spring with Pope, presenting a well-rounded profile with tools across the board.
Hunter Elmore, 3B/1B, American Christian Academy (AL), 2028
Uncommitted. Elmore combines a powerful 6-foot-1 frame with a commanding presence in the batter’s box. Over the weekend, he consistently barreled the ball, including a 101 mph line drive up the middle and a 92 mph fly ball that just missed the fence. Possesses loose, explosive hands that generate elite bat speed, driving the ball to all fields with outstanding power potential. He moves incredibly well for his size while being one of the most dynamic hitters in the 2028 class. He’s poised to continue punishing pitching this fall while beginning to earn national recognition.
Cole Johnson, INF, Prince Avenue Christian, 2028
We got a chance to see Cole at the Super Sophomore Games, so it was good to see him back in action at the Prep Baseball Cup. The feel for the barrel really standouts, and we saw him hit one of the top 2028 arms in the event. He went backside on an upper 80s’s fastball. There is present hand speed that controls the barrel. There is MLB bloodlines that will continue to mature with more reps, and we could see him have a breakout year in 2026.
Kellen Hoffman, 3B, North Paulding, 2029
In multiple looks at Hoffman he continues to perform, no matter the level or circumstances. From Junior Future Games to playing up an age group in one of the best tournaments of the fall. There is obvious competitiveness and mature actions throughout his game. He impresses most at the plate. We have seen him do everything from hit early in the count to work deep counts and win them with authority. The barrel stays in the zone for a long time, leading to consistent contact. There is present strength, showing the ability to go backside off the wall in the final pool play game on Sunday.
Barrels remain consistent for 2028 INF Kellen Hoffman this weekend.
