Prep Baseball Georgia Scout Blog: Week 6
March 24, 2025
The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culmination of all players that were not selected for player of the week.
Week of March 17th
Monday
Ty Peeples, OF, 2025, Franklin County
Georgia commit. The 2x-Prep Baseball All-American absolutely evaporated one to the pull-side for a massive solo HR. Late in the 7th and facing an upper 80s arm, Peeples would get the barrel out and leave the yard in a hurry. The strength within the 6-foot-1,180-pound frame has been on full display this spring as the power has showed up frequently with HR #6 Monday evening. Showcasing one of the most polished swings in the ‘25 Prep Class. Peeples creates easy carry to the pull-side backed by advanced barrel lag in zone and ability to change plane with present bat speed to match. Easy rhythm in the box and stays extremely well-connected with a big leg kick in order to get on time, to find consistent impact throughout the zone. Truly advanced hit/power upside. Peeples is a must know name come June.
Keyes Harbin, SS, 2026, Franklin County
Uncommitted. Harbin has shown well early and often in each look this spring. Standing a physical 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. At the plate, the LHH holds simple actions and movements with a direct path to the ball and strong feel for the barrel. With natural strength throughout the frame and great utilization of his lower half. As well as showcasing explosive hands through the zone and present bag speed that generate easy leverage through the zone to the pull-side. In the top of the 1st, Harbin would jump all over a pitch down in the zone and get the barrel out to drive it on a line over the RF wall for a solo HR.
Ryan Davies, RHP, 2025, Dunwoody
It was a dominant outing from start to finish for the uncommitted senior as Dunwoody would pick up their 15th win in a row. Davies was filling up the zone at will, firing 71% strikes in the outing, working primarily off of a FB/CB combo. Fastball lived in the mid-80s with the ability to paint the corners at will for consistent called strikes. Davies had utmost confidence in the curveball at 73-76 with ability to land for strikes and in-zone misses whenever he wanted. Changeup was shown sparingly in the high-70s with some good arm side fade. Davies has combined to be an excellent 1-2 punch with Yale commit Matt Pearch as the Wildcats push towards a region title.
Walker Waggoner, OF, Fellowship Christian, 2027
5-foot-10 150-pounds. Waggoner had one of the only hits against a low 90’s arm and put together 3 really strong AB’s. One of which being a back side double that nearly got out. Waggoner 1st stood out when I saw Fellowship earlier in the year. He is an athletic mover, and has a well connected swing at the plate that is going to play for years to come. There is sneaky pop in the swing already with 2 home runs on the year. We will get a chance to get a good look at Waggoner this summer at Top Prospect Games.
Chase Landmesser, SS, Mt. Paran, 2025
Uncommitted. This was our 1st look at Landmesser this spring after being a standout this fall at the West Georgia ID and Fall Top Prospect Games. He has been a big contributor in the Mt. Paran line up for the last couple years and had a strong day on Monday to lead to a big region win. He had a pair of hits on the night with a couple RBI’s. Landmesser is the type of player that will stick in the line up because of the bat and is athletic enough to play anywhere on the field. The actions can stick at short with the ability to make the tough plays.
