Marcus Beatty, OF, Independence HS, IA
Beatty has a strong compact frame at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds. The No. 12 player in Iowa’s 2022 class is currently uncommitted. He’s a good athlete, running the 60 in 6.58 seconds and shows solid arm strength in the outfield at 83 mph. There is loft power in the bat, as he routinely posts mid-90s exit velocities during BP. On the gridiron, Beatty shines as a running back and is currently leading Class 3-A in rushing with 1,931 yards, 2,222 all-purpose yards and 21 rushing touchdowns.
