Preseason All-State (2021) Spotlight: C Xavier Nolan

The annual Invite Only Preseason All-State Showcase for the top 2021 prospects is coming up Saturday February 29th at Roundtripper Sports Academy in Westfield, IN. Leading up to the event we will highlight some of the top prospects to be in attendance.

Scouting Report

6/12/19: 6-foot, 170-pound C / OF with an 87 mph exit velocity and a 60 time of 6.78. Starts in an open batting stance with his weight on his back foot and his knees slightly bent. Keeps his hands low; has a level swing plane and a balanced, consistent swing; stays on top of the ball well; consistently hit line drives during the showcase. Behind the plate, consistently shows athleticism and smooth, efficient transfers; pop time of 1.95-2.00; makes accurate throws on the bag; 79 mph position velocity. In OF, has a strong, accurate arm; stays behind the ball to generate power in his throws; 83 mph position velocity. Shows athleticism all over the field and shows ability to play multiple positions.

7/10/18: 2021 C/INF hits from the right side. Uses a tall setup in the box. Hand wrap as trigger with weight transfer back. Showed average bat speed through the zone, posted an exit velo of 80. Bat path is level and short through the zone. Showed line drive ability. In the field showed average footwork fielding the ball deep at times. Exchange is clean, and arm strength across the diamond is average at 71. Behind the dish showed low setup, gains ground well on throws. Exchange was clean and quick during pops. Arm strength was average at 72. Pops ranged from 2.01-2.16.
