Scouting Report
The Indiana recruit was effectively wild across four innings allowing just one run while striking out six and walking two. Long limbed at 6-foot-5, 170-pounds with a wiry frame, Decker-Petty rips the ball out of the glove, later, to jump start a quick arm that delivers out of a high ¾ slot with quality extension out front. His fastball worked 87-89 (1950-2150 RPM), and received some swing-and-miss with varying life. He also showcased confidence in a power-changeup at 83 mph while dropping in a gradual, 11/5 breaking ball (73-77) that took proper shape, and which he appears to have some aptitude to make advancements on in the future. Overall, the quick arm and projectable frame leave lots to be excited about moving forward, and there is a strong chance he continue to see an uptick in velocity.
