New England Insider: Breakout Players - Winter Showcases
Over the past few months we have seen numerous breakout players from our winter workouts. These players jumped out of nowhere and now are getting on everyone’s radar.
Below we have breakdown a combination of pitchers and catchers.
Name: Henry Funaro
Position: RHP
Ranking: 11th in New England Class of 2017
High School: Lowell High School (MA)
Height/Weight: 6-foot-3, 200-pounds
Breakout Performance: Henry showed a high level arm at our workout in Western Massachusetts. Fastball was heavy with sink, sitting in the mid-80s. The breaking ball has the right shape and the slider is a plus pitch in the 70s. The changeup has the right action and fade, touching 76 mph. Big, projectable arm.
