Michigan may not be considered a hotbed for baseball, but Brother Rice HS consistently churns out Division I athletes and the pipeline isn’t slowing. Scouts followed the Warriors this spring to see RHP Matt Ruppenthal pitch, a Vanderbilt recruit that ultimately went undrafted, but they also caught a glimpse of another player they’ll have to return to see next spring—OF Nick Plummer.

“We had a ton of pro scouts at our games and when they saw Nick play, they said, ‘We'll be back,’” Brother Rice head coach Bob Riker said. “He's definitely a draft guy and I would think a high draft guy."
