March 6, 2025
The Missouri high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 20, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight: “We have an experienced top of the rotation in Wilhelm and Sturgeon. Both faced off against tough lineups as Juniors and did well. Evan Mager will join them on the mound this year, as he did not pitch last year due to injury. Evan should be a big arm for us. We look for our offense to take a step forward, with some newcomers who project to swing the sticks pretty well. We have added size and physicality around the field and in the lineup. We return our leading hitter in Evan Mager and we are looking forward to a strong Senior campaign from him. Defensively we are athletic and versatile and should go get it in the OF as well. The majority of our lineup does not have Varsity experience, so adjusting to Varsity pitching will be a task. After graduating big 3 on the mound, we’re expecting Wilhelm, Sturgeon, and Mager to assume those roles, but those are big shoes to fill.” – David Wiggins, head coach
