Eric Silva SS / RHP / Laguna Beach, CA / 2021

UCLA recruit. Silva was electric in his two clean innings of work, sitting 92-94 with the fastball, and striking out four. Wiry-athletic at 6-foot, 180-pounds, the right-hander repeated a simple delivery, and his loose, whippy arm delivered out of a high ¾ slot. He pounded the zone to both sides of the plate with the fastball, and went to an above average changeup in the low 80s that he threw aggressively with fastball-intent in the first inning. The breaking ball took more 11/5 shape, and was an early-count strike pitch in the upper 70s in his first inning, but he ripped off some sharp, 80-82 sliders in the second inning that had tilt and were swing-and-miss offerings. Silva still has room to continue filling out, and with three potential above average offerings, showcased the potential to be a premier starter in the future.
