In our Where Are They Now series, we're looking at players that attended a PBR event during their high school careers and checking to see where they are now.

Beginning our series is Alex Lange, a 2014 graduate from Lee's Summit West. Lange attended the marquee PBR events: the Super 60 and PBR Future Games. 

During the 2012 PBR Future Games, the premier underclass recruiting event, Lange displayed his 79-mph wipeout slider. It was arguably the best pitch of the weekend. Not long after the event, Lange committed to LSU.

Lange continued to dominate the high school ranks throughout his career. As as senior, he attended the Super 60. His FB sat in the low 90's and continued to lean on the SL as a swing-and-miss pitch.

Towards the end of his high school tenure, he was named to the 2014 MHSBCA All-State Team and was the Missouri Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year. He also ranked No. 10 overall in the PBR Class of 2014 rankings.

Lange contributed to LSU the moment he stepped in Baton Rouge. As a freshman, Lange was a consensus All-American and was honored as National Freshman Pitcher of the Year by multiple outlets, as well as SEC Freshman of the Year. In his 2015 freshman season, the Tigers qualified for the College World Series and he earned their lone win against Cal State Fullerton before falling to TCU.

Lange and the Tigers would eventually make it back to Omaha in 2017. He notched a victory against top-seeded Oregon State en route to a runner-up finish to Florida.

A glorified college career came to an end in 2017 but not without more hardware and accolades. He earned Second Team All-American and First Team All-SEC honors before turning his focus to the MLB Draft. 

Lange was selected in the first round (30th overall) by the Chicago Cubs. He played for Cubs' affiliates in Eugene, Tennessee and Myrtle Beach.

In 2019, Lange was part of a trade between the Cubs and Detroit Tigers. Lange was sent to the Tigers system with Paul Richan for Nicholas Castellanos. Lange immediately jumped in with the Tigers' affiliate, the Erie SeaWolves, before finishing 2019 in the Arizona Fall League.

Lange will begin the 2020 season in the Tigers organization. At 6-foot-3, 197-pounds, with his lethal arsenal, there's no doubt Lange has yet to reach his ceiling.
