Missouri Preseason All-State: Quick Hits

On Saturday, February 22nd, the Prep Baseball Missouri staff hosted our premier event of the winter, the Missouri Preseason All-State showcase. This event was host to roughly 100 of the best players in the state, and gave our staff one final look at these prospects before the spring season begins.
All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Today, we are taking a look at a number of the standouts from the day with scout notes and videos, below.
POSITION PLAYERS
Saturday’s event provided another impressive glimpse at INF GT Taylor (Christian Brothers College; Kansas commit), one of the top prospects in Missouri’s 2026 class. Taylor stood out as one of the day’s top performers, ranking at or near the top in several key measurables. The Kansas commit showcased a powerful right-handed swing, consistently barreling baseballs with authority and producing triple-digit exit velocities, peaking at 101.3 mph. His compact stroke effortlessly generated power and elite hand speed (T25.1 mph), sending his furthest ball an impressive 357 feet.

GT Taylor
OF Cooper DeManuele (Francis Howell Central, 2026) delivered his most impressive performance to date at Saturday’s event, putting together one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound quick-twitch athlete displayed a natural feel for the barrel, generating effortless bat speed (T73 mph) and translating his strength into some of the event’s highest exit velocities. His 102.2 mph peak and 93.2 mph average exit velocity both ranked among the day’s best. DeManuele also flashed his speed and athleticism, running a 6.88 60-yard dash with a 3.81 30-yard split.
One of the premier backstops in Missouri’s 2027 class, C/INF Carson Leuthauser (Eureka) delivered one of the loudest batting practice rounds of the event. Swinging from a simple, balanced right-handed setup, Leuthauser consistently found the barrel, generating effortless power and driving balls with authority to the pull-side gap. His most impressive blast traveled 372 feet at a peak exit velocity of 100.6 mph, with an impressive 92.7 mph average. Defensively, the sophomore showcased advanced skills behind the plate, reaching 79 mph from the chute with consistent pop times between 1.96-2.02. His athleticism carried over to the infield as well, where he posted an 89 mph infield velocity—the second highest of the event.

2024 Future Games alumni INF Brady Tanner (Francis Howell, 2026) delivered another impressive performance in this look. A well-rounded athlete at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, Tanner showcased a smooth and polished left-handed swing with natural bat speed (T84.2 mph) and a strong feel for the barrel, reaching a peak exit velocity of 97 mph and driving his best ball 347 feet. Defensively, he displayed clean, sure-handed actions at shortstop, pairing fluid footwork with an 80 mph arm across the diamond. An explosive runner, the junior was among the top performers in the 60-yard dash, clocking a 6.82 time with a 3.79 30-yard split.
INF Brendan Pyle (Fort Zumwalt West, 2026; Loyola Marymount commit) delivered another polished performance on both sides of the ball in this look. A standout for Team Missouri at the 2024 Future Games, Pyle consistently found the barrel during BP, blistering a 98.4 mph peak exit velocity and showcasing his advanced bat speed (T77.8 mph) by launching his longest ball 368 feet. The junior also flashed his defensive prowess, firing one of the day's hardest infield throws at 89 mph across the diamond.
INF Craig Ringe (Eureka, 2026) remains one of the top uncommitted bats in Missouri’s 2026 class, and he proved why once again in this look. Built at 6-foot, 205 pounds, Ringe boasts advanced bat-to-ball skills with high-end power potential, using a quick, flat swing to consistently drive balls back up the middle throughout his round. His best barrel of the day left the bat at 96.5 mph, traveling 341 feet.
INF Max Partney (Hillsboro, 2027) further cemented himself as one of the premier power bats in Missouri’s 2027 class. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound left-handed hitter showcased effortless strength, taking aggressive, intent-driven swings looking to elevate and drive the baseball. He consistently found the barrel throughout his round, peaking at 98.4 mph exit velocity while averaging 89.8 mph per batted ball. His advanced hand speed (T24.8 mph) and bat speed (T76.3 mph), combined with a swing that plays in-game, give him middle-of-the-order power potential at the next level.

Saturday’s event provided another look at C Zach Partney (Hillsboro, 2027), who continues to add strength to his 6-foot, 206-pound frame. Partney showed notable jumps across the board from our last look in the fall, showcasing a strong right-handed swing with quick bat speed to barrel his best ball at 98.7 mph exit velocity. Defensively, his 77 mph arm from behind the plate ranked among the event’s best.
One of the day’s most impressive all-around performances came from INF/RHP Brady Yates (Glendale, 2027), who continues to trend upward with each look. Built with plenty of projection at 6-foot-2, 202 pounds, Yates showcased a polished right-handed swing with high-end power, barreling a 97.8 mph peak exit velocity (92 mph avg) and launching his furthest ball 386 feet. His elite bat speed (78 mph avg, T84.5 mph) suggests even more power to come as he continues to develop. Defensively, Yates moves well with athletic actions, developing hands, and a strong infield arm (T85 mph). He also turned in a 6.95 60-yard dash, adding to his profile as a must see prospect in Missouri’s class.

One of the premier prospects in the 2028 class, OF Brady Rallo (Christian Brothers College), delivered one of the most impressive performances of the day—regardless of class. It’s rare to see a freshman among the event’s top exit velocities, but Rallo did just that, topping out at an eye-catching 101.3 mph with a strong average of 90.4 mph. A dynamic, quick-twitch athlete with middle-of-the-order potential, he consistently barreled balls back up the middle, showcasing intent-driven swings from the left side. Adding to his standout showing, Rallo registered an 83 mph outfield velocity and a 3.93-second 30-yard split. Rallo is a must-watch prospect heading into the spring and summer seasons.

INF Ryan Horne (Christian Brothers College, 2026) put together an impressive round of BP, showcasing his physical presence in the box. At 6-foot, 169 pounds, he possesses noticeable strength throughout his frame, which translates well to his swing. Hitting with a balanced rhythm and loose, strong hands, Horne stays through the zone effectively while working inside the baseball. His offensive potential was evident in his measurable gains, posting a peak exit velocity of 100.6 mph. He also displayed his athleticism with a 6.87 60-yard dash and reached 77 mph across the infield.
OF Devin Freeman (Ladue Horton Watkins, 2026) is a high-upside junior to keep an eye on. A 2024 Future Games alum, Freeman kicked off his day with a swift 6.86 60-yard dash, showcasing his athleticism early. At the plate, the right-handed hitter displayed loose, intent-driven hands, producing an average exit velocity of 86.7 mph (T95.6) with occasional loud contact to the pull side. Defensively, Freeman stood out with one of the top outfield performances of the event, moving with fluid, athletic footwork and flashing a strong 91 mph arm.
INF Seaton Thompson (Ladue Horton Watkins, 2026; Missouri commit) is a familiar name at Prep Baseball events, consistently impressing every time we get our eyes on him. During BP, he showed improved rhythm and fluidity in his hands pre-pitch while maintaining a strong, repeatable swing that consistently found the barrel. A true switch-hitter with power from both sides, Thompson worked back up the middle throughout his round, peaking at a 94.7 mph exit velocity. Defensively, the rangy and sure-handed infielder continues to showcase advanced actions and instincts, flashing an 82 mph infield velocity.

INF/RHP Cameron Miller (Nixa, 2027) is a promising young bat who appears to be just beginning to tap into his high ceiling. At the plate, Miller shows a calm, athletic presence with a clean, direct swing that stays balanced throughout, reaching a peak exit velocity of 91 mph in this look. Defensively, he moves fluidly across the infield with natural athleticism and a loose, projectable arm.
OF/RHP Gavin Thomason (Fair Grove, 2027) has continued to trend upward since our first look at the U&C Scout Day last fall. At 6-foot, 198 pounds, he has plenty of strength in physical frame with room to add even more. Defensively, Thomason has seen a significant jump in arm strength, now reaching 87 mph from the outfield while showcasing fluid actions and a clean, purposeful approach through the ball. Offensively, he keeps things simple at the plate, driving the ball with intent to the pull side. He averaged 88.4 mph off the bat (T94.4), flashing emerging power and a feel for elevation. A name to watch in the coming years.
Another standout young backstop from the event was C Luke McAtee (De Smet Jesuit, 2027), who consistently found the barrel throughout his round. At 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, McAtee possesses a strong, durable frame with present strength. His right-handed swing showed power potential, as he averaged 87.1 mph off the bat (T94.4), driving the ball with authority.
OF/LHP Dawson Eftink (Jackson, 2027) turned in his most impressive performance yet, showing year-over-year improvements across the board. At 5-foot-10, 197 pounds, he possesses an athletic frame with room to grow. Eftink saw a jump in arm strength, reaching 84 mph from the outfield, while his peak exit velocity climbed eight mph to an eye-catching 102.3 mph. Offensively, he was one of the top bats of the day, showcasing a smooth, athletic left-handed swing that was consistently on time and on the barrel, averaging 87.8 mph per batted ball. He attacked both gaps with intent throughout his round, sending his furthest ball 351 feet.

A dynamic, quick-twitch athlete capable of impacting the game in all facets, OF Myland Bristow (Blue Springs South, 2027) continues to establish himself as a top name in Missouri’s sophomore class. Bristow posted one of the fastest 60-yard dash times of the event at 6.88, showcasing his speed early. At the plate, he consistently found the barrel, spraying hard line-drive contact to all fields while projecting as a top-of-the-order bat. He posted a max exit velocity of 98.8 mph with an impressive 91.9 mph average. Defensively, Bristow’s athleticism was on full display as he moved effortlessly in the outfield, playing with pace and fluidity while reaching 89 mph on his throws.
TWO-WAYS
INF/RHP Cole Chambers (St. Louis University, 2027) continues to solidify his status as the top prospect in Missouri’s 2027 class. A high-level two-sport athlete, Chambers boasts a lean yet powerful 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame and showcased his well-rounded skill set in this look. At the plate, he put together an impressive round of batting practice, consistently driving line drives to all fields with a max exit velocity of 94.9 mph—with even more power to come. Defensively, Chambers displayed fluid, athletic actions with natural range on the infield, pairing it with elite arm strength (T90 mph), making him a strong candidate to stick on the left side at the next level. On the mound, the sophomore impressed with a dynamic, controlled delivery and the ability to command a four-pitch mix. His fastball sat 85-87 mph with life through the zone, while his tight-spinning curveball (71-72 mph) averaged -15.1” of vertical break. He also turned over a low-spin changeup and a tumbling splitter.

LHP/1B Aiden Zehnle (Oakville, 2026) stood out as a true two-way talent with a strong all-around showing. At 6-foot-4, 218 pounds, he possesses a physically imposing frame that translates well on both sides of the ball. Zehnle started his day on the mound, where he ran his fastball up to 85 mph (82-84) with lively action around the zone. He followed with a sharp 71-77 mph curveball featuring hard downer action and mixed in a 75-76 mph changeup that played mostly straight. Offensively, the left-handed hitter made a statement at the plate, ranking near the top of the event in key metrics—posting a max exit velocity of 97.8 mph, an impressive 89.4 mph average exit velocity, and a max distance of 361 feet.
PITCHERS
RHP Carter Martin (Warrenton, 2027) continues to solidify himself as a must-know name in Missouri’s sophomore class. The 6-foot, 171-pound right-hander has a lean, projectable frame with plenty of room for added strength. Martin moves fluidly down the mound with a clean, loose arm action, delivering his pitches with effortless control. Since last fall’s Legacy Scout Day, his fastball has taken a noticeable jump, now sitting at 87-88 mph with impressive carry through the zone (19.8” IVB). What truly sets Martin apart, however, are his two high-spin, swing-and-miss breaking balls—a sharp 75-76 mph curveball spinning at 2,700+ RPM (2,874 max) and a tight 76-78 mph slider that reaches 2,926 RPM. With command of both elite breaking pitches and a fastball that continues to trend upward, Martin is a name that college coaches should have on their radar.

RHP Ryan Dobratz (Liberty-Wentzville) is another standout arm to watch in Missouri’s 2027 class. At a towering 6-foot-4, 222 pounds, Dobratz boasts an imposing presence on the mound with as much raw power and upside as anyone in his class. The physical right-hander attacked the zone with a heavy 87-89 mph fastball, showing both carry and occasional arm-side run. Complementing his heater, Dobratz demonstrated command of a 72-76 mph curveball and effectively killed spin on his 74-78 mph changeup.

RHP Paxson Schnieders (Mehlville, 2026) boasts a strong, physical 6-foot-2, 208-pound frame and a smooth, controlled delivery on the mound. The junior showed a noticeable uptick in velocity, pounding the zone with a three-pitch mix. His fastball sat comfortably at 86-88 mph, topping out at 88.5 mph. Schnieders’ slider showed the potential to be a true swing-and-miss offering, spinning at an elite 2,918 RPM (2,757 avg.) while generating over -16.3” of horizontal movement at 76-78 mph. He rounded out his arsenal with a deceptive 80-82 mph changeup that featured late fading action.
An arm on the rise, RHP Brady Smith (Van Buren, 2026) boasts a lean, projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame, with plenty of room to add strength. His fluid delivery and loose, whippy arm action stand out as he moves effortlessly down the mound. In this bullpen, Smith’s fastball sat 86-87 mph (T88), showing natural arm-side run through the zone. He mixed in a low-80s changeup with fading action and a slider with slight sweep, spinning at 2,300+ RPM. With the ability to command both sides of the plate using his full arsenal, this small-school standout is poised for a breakout spring.

Brady Smith
RHP Henry Bertoncin (St. Pius X (KC), 2026) showed plenty of upside on the mound, working from a lean, projectable 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. A known competitor on the mound, the Future Games alum sat 85-86 mph in his bullpen session, topping at 87 mph, while consistently filling the zone. He featured a big-breaking 12/6 curveball in the low-70s, paired with a 78-79 mph changeup, both of which he commanded well.
LHP Drew Dierks (Francis Howell, 2027) boasts a long, projectable 6-foot-3, 164-pound frame with plenty of room for added strength. A fluid mover on the mound, he features a quick arm and a fastball that runs to the arm side, topping at 83 mph. His arsenal includes a mid-to-upper 60s curveball with long 12/6 shape and a fading changeup at 71-73 mph. With his pitchability and room for physical development, Dierks is a high-upside arm to follow in the coming years.
RHP Michael Strong (St. Louis University, 2026) is an uncommitted arm to watch closely this spring. At 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, he offers a strong, well-proportioned frame with a powerful presence on the mound. His arsenal is headlined by an 85-87 mph fastball that jumps out of the hand with occasional arm-side run. His most impressive secondary offering was a sharp 75-76 mph slider, which played laterally with late bite and elite spin rates reaching 2,700 RPM. Strong also showcased a feel for his 80-82 mph changeup, effectively spotting it at the bottom of the zone for strikes.
LHP Michael Sinn (Lafayette, 2027) is a high-upside arm to keep a close eye on. Standing at a lean, highly projectable 6-foot-4, 192 pounds, Sinn showed advanced pitchability, filling the zone with all four offerings during his bullpen session. His fastball sat 83-84 mph with lively carry (avg. 16.6” IVB), jumping out of the hand. He featured two distinct breaking balls—a sharp, tight 75-77 mph slider and a 69-71 mph curveball with downer spin. Rounding out his repertoire, Sinn flashed a 76-78 mph changeup with fading action.

Another imposing right-hander from this event, RHP/INF Max Jones (Seckman, 2027) delivered one of the louder performances of the day. At 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, Jones boasts a strong, physical frame and works with a drop-and-drive delivery that stays in line, finishing with a clean ¾ release. His fastball sat comfortably at 86-88 mph, flashing carry through the zone. He complemented it with a well-rounded secondary mix, featuring a mid-70s 12/6 curveball with depth and 2,300+ RPM, as well as a mid-to-upper-70s changeup that effectively killed spin.
