GALLMAN, MS - The Copiah Academy Colonels hosted the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots on Monday to open the 2019 MAIS regular season. There was a wealth of youth on hand Monday with several of them putting there skills on full display. Madison-Ridgeland Academy took an early lead and would maintain it throughout the game walking away with a 9-1 victory over Copiah Academy.

Cody Swanson OF / Madison Ridgeland Academy, MS / 2019 A recent Mississippi State football commit with an extremely lean and athletic build. The right-handed hitter starts in a slightly squated position with loose rhythm in hands. Flashed bat speed with a short path to contact. Recorded two hits on the night making several good passes at fastballs in the zone, although did have a few swings and misses when pitch was down.
