Fuquay, Keith Dominate Apex in Game 1 of 4A East

On Tuesday, conference foes faced off at Fuquay Varina HS as the Bengals hosted Apex HS in game 1 of the 4A East Regional Finals. The best of three series will continue on Thursday and Friday, if needed. Fuquay jumped to a quick lead and blew the game open late to claim game 1 and the lead in the series. Sophomore righty David Keith was very good in garnering the win for the Bengals.
Fuquay Varina scored first when in the second inning catcher Lane Rhodes (2019) led off with a single. DH Wesley Noles (2018) grounded out to third and Rhodes advanced to second. Right fielder, Vinny Consolo (2018) singled to drive in Rhodes to start the scoring.
