Two highly touted teams from the South Charlotte area, Providence and Weddington, faced off in a thrilling matchup at Weddington High School on Tuesday. Providence emerged victorious with a narrow 4-3 win in a game defined by missed opportunities, as both teams struggled to capitalize with runners in scoring position. Five separate half-innings ended with two or more runners left stranded on base.

Providence found ways to manufacture runs, led by Jack Pejot’s disciplined approach at the plate. Pejot reached base four times via walks, stole two bases, and scored three of Providence’s four runs.
