2026 Player Rankings
Key Developments in the 2026 Class
The 2026 class is entering a pivotal phase in their recruitment journey. With new NCAA recruiting rules taking effect, many players are making commitments as opportunities continue to open up. While top prospects are beginning to receive attention, the biggest moves for the class of 2026 are expected this spring and into early summer, as college coaches finalize their 2025 recruiting class and shift their focus to the rising juniors.
As players enter their junior year, significant strides in development often become evident. The projections made by scouting staff in earlier years start to materialize as athletes mature both physically and in their skill sets. Throughout the preseason, the Prep Baseball NC scouting staff observed many players showcasing increased strength and agility compared to just a few months ago. These improvements can lead to notable changes in player grades and rankings.
Ranking Adjustments
As the spring season begins, the 2026 rankings have undergone some reshuffling. The previous No. 1 player in the class from the summer and fall has reclassified to the 2025 class, creating an opportunity for a new top-ranked player. Additionally, the rankings now expand to include the top 300 players in North Carolina. While this update is relatively minor compared to future adjustments, the off-season progress of many athletes warranted a reevaluation.
