Piedmont Edges Parkwood in Extra-Inning Pitchers' Duel

Piedmont HS | Friday March 21, 2025

MONROE, N.C. – In a pitching dual, Piedmont found a way to scratch across the game’s only run in the ninth inning, walking off with a 1-0 win over Parkwood on Tuesday night.

James Long delivered a gutsy performance for Parkwood, working into the ninth inning and allowing just four hits and one earned run. However, Piedmont’s Trent Polk, Bailey Hall, and Bryson Greene combined to shut out Parkwood, limiting them to just three hits while striking out 13 in the extra-inning thriller.

The game’s deciding run came in the bottom of the ninth, as Dallas Tucker reached on a walk and later came around to score on a clutch RBI single from Ethan Harvey, sealing the win for Piedmont.
