TOMS RIVER, NJ—RHP Tyler Ras (Middletown North HS, NJ) took the hill Tuesday after field conditions pushed his start back from Monday. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Alabama recruit cruised through his first four innings, dominating with his fastball. It ranged from 89-93 mph, sitting mostly 90-92, with good life. Opposing hitters were simply overmatched by it. Ras’ has a host of secondary pitches, though all remain in development. He flashed a changeup at 79 with some arm-side action, a slider with downer break at 79-81, a cutter in the low 80s and a curveball with some hump to it in the mid 70s.
