The 2025 Nevada High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout the Silver State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons by raising the 2025 NIAA State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams throughout Nevada and will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Top 10 Rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Cougars come off an excellent 2024 Season where they posted a 23-15 record and look to continue trending as a program in 2025 behind a gritty roster, lead by Umpqua signee, Dillon Victoravich, and Williston State signee, Matthew Moreno-Jackson. Coronado is a program that makes teams play all 7 innings, down the the last out and it was evident last year as they made a run all the way to the State Tournament. 

This Spring they look to run it back with their two committed prospects along with seniors Lorenzo Bradley, Gavin Rogers, Caleb Chai, Drew Steffen and key returning junior, Hudson Inouye. A core group that Head Coach, Garrett Smith, is excited about, this Coronado group has the bones to be an exciting group this Spring as a majority of their roster now has the playoff experience that is critical down the stretch. 

One thing to know about this program is the young players that are going to be coming up through their system over the next few years with 2024 Future Game attendee, Matthew Smoot, 2024 Junior Future Games attendee, Crosby McGreal, as well as Santiago Cocon, Mariano Rodriguez, Ryder Metz and Camden Smith. This young core will be an exciting one to follow with Coronado projecting to be making deep playoff runs years to come.
