Reno Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits

Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

RENO, NV - On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Prep Baseball Nevada staff hosted our first event of the summer, which featured over 35 prospects from the 2026-2029 classes.  Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Vald Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball with the pitchers being evaluated during the Live Game Play with Trackman Baseball to receive all of their data and metrics.

Below, we highlight some of the top players that made an immediate impression on the Prep Baseball Nevada Staff with the Quick Hits.

Reno Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits

Garrett Benefiel C / 2B / Galena High School, NV / 2027

The 2027 continues to impress each time out with us and his performance at the Reno top prospect games was no different. After earning the top catcher pop time at 1.98 seconds he followed it up with a long drive filled batting practice session that showed his present feel for the barrel, living in the big part of the yard. He then followed up his performance with a home run during the live gameplay that flashed his power potential to the pull side. Keep an eye on Benefiel as a player that we expect to continue seeing his game trend over the next few years.

Nathan Cordell 3B / SS / Galena, NV / 2027

One of the more physical players at the Reno top prospect games, Cordell showed off his present pool side power during the batting practice session where he got settled in quickly and left the yard multiple times to the pull side. His 97.0 mph TrackMan exit velocity ranked him 4th in the event while his 89.4 mph average exit velocity ranked him 3rd, proving that he has present feel for the barrel and can consistently drive the ball.

Aidan Eduardo Cruz C / 1B / Bishop Manogue, NV / 2026

A player who made it clear to us that he wants to do whatever it takes to play at the next level, Cruz is on a mission, and it was evident at the Reno top prospect games where we already saw his improved physical shape translating on both side sides of the ball, as he produced personal bests in almost every stack category measured. Getting his day started off behind the plate during the catcher evaluations, here in the events. Top catcher velocity at 76 mph then followed it up with his 1.99 second pop time, with each throw right around the bag. His ability at the plate has continued to trend as well where he earned a new personal best 96 mph exit of velocity that translated to the game where he found multiple barrels and register three quality at bats.

Nolan Forman 1B / RHP / Spanish Springs, NV / 2026

The Spanish Springs product put together one of the top offensive showings during the batting practice session, using his Prep Baseball verified 6-foot-4, 220.2 pound frame to drive balls with authority, showing comfort and drive balls towards the left centerfield gap. Along with his offensive progress, his actions around the bag continue to improve as well, while presenting the quality target for infielders. This is another big bat for the Cougars that we expect to be on more than a few radars this Summer.

Landon Garrido LHP / OF / Spanish Springs, NV / 2026

Arguably, the highest stock improvement at the Reno top prospect games was Spanish Springs left-hand pitcher, Landon Garrido. With improved feel for each of his pitches, as well as his fastball velocity continuing to trend, there was a lot to like about this southpaw. His Prep Baseball verified 5-foot-9, 163.8 pound frame leads you to believe that there is plenty of room to add size and strength and we expect his velocity to parallel those physical gains that are projected to come down the road.

Kyle Glenn SS / 2B / Bishop Manogue, NV / 2027

The Bishop Manogue product quietly had himself a day at the Reno top prospect games, where he produced the line drive filled batting practice session followed by a multi hit performance in the live gameplay. This is a player who may not jump off the page during the showcase portion of the event, but made his presence known during the live gameplay where it seemed like anytime he was up to bad he would find a way on base and figure out a way to make an impact.

Titus Gocke RHP / 1B / Douglas County, NV / 2026

Another physical prospect at the Reno top prospect games, Gocke put on an offensive display during his batting practice session, leaving in the yard multiple times while also earning the event's top average exit velocity at 93.9 mph. His 6-foot-6 (and growing) frame leads you to believe that there is still much more in the tank with this player as he is still figuring out how to use his leverage at the plate, showing flashes of “light tower” power that we expect to only continue trending over the next year.

Logan Green OF / RHP / Galena, NV / 2026

Few would argue that Green would be in the conversation as the top overall athlete at the Reno top prospect games where he found himself at, or near, the top of almost every statistical category that applied to him. His 100.0 mph TrackMan exit velocity capped off an impressive position player work out where he also registered the event top 60 time at 6.75 seconds, the second best outfield velocity at 91 mph as well as the top for max jump of 29.7 inches. Green has all the tools to be a legitimate prospect, and we expect him to be a player that could make an early impact at the next level with where his game is projected to go.

Cinco Guillen SS / OF / Bishop Manouge, NV / 2027

The Bishop Manogue product has seen his game make significant strides over the past six months with his defensive actions showing more smoothness and confidence through the fielding process in that could also be Syd for his offensive game as well, where he has shifted to exclusively working from the left side, rather than switch hitting, and the more focus on the single swing was obvious as he produced one of the top overall batting practice sessions that saw him spray balls with ease to both gaps with advance field for his barrel. With the added strength since February, we got a glimpse of what’s to come as you can project Guillen to be a player to follow for the next few years.

Brooks Porter OF / RHP / Robert McQueen, NV / 2026

Arguably, the event's top overall performer, Porter had himself a day on both sides of the ball, then carried that into the live gameplay where he registered to hit, then earned the event's top fastball velocity at 89 mph. His next level power was on full display during the batting practice session where he left the yard repeatedly, earning the event's top TrackMan exit of velocity of 102.0 mph as well as the top distance at 410 feet. At a stout 6-foot-1, 196.2 pound, his present physical strength has translated seamlessly into his game, where he also earned the top outfield velocity at 93 mph. The tools are real, and his game continues to trend in the right direction with more expected to come in the future, making Porter a player that we project to make an early impact at the next level.

Cole Schaffer SS / RHP / Spanish Springs, NV / 2026

The 2026 continues to see his game progress, putting up multiple personal bests at the Reno top prospect games, including his 94.1 mph TrackMan exit velocity, as well as 85.6 mph average exit velocity. Schaffer also achieved his best 60 time at 7.07 seconds as well. At a Prep Baseball verified 6-foot-2, 154.3 pounds, there’s still significant room to fill out in this frame that when decides and strength is added, will only amplify each part of his game. Keep an eye on this Spanish Springs product that we expect to continue making big jumps over the next year.

Chase Spencer 2B / RHP / Reed, NV / 2026

In his first event with us since 2022, Spencer made an immediate impression on the Prep Baseball staff, standing at 6-foot-3 (and growing), with his fast ball running up to 87.6 mph to go with his curveball and slider secondary mix that show different shape and projectable actions that we expect to only continue to tighten up over the next year. The looseness in the arm and ability to get down the mound makes Spencer a very intriguing arm that we believe is only now scratching the surface of what’s to come.

Memphis Venis RHP / 1B / Galena, NV / 2026

Venis comes off of his breakout spring with Galena, where he earned Prep Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors, after one of his multiple standout performances on the mound. He continued to show his progress on the mound, with his present pitchability, that kept hitters off-balance, while also being able to move his fastball in and out. Add a Prep Baseball verified 6-foot-2, 210.8 pounds, this is another player that we believe is just scratching the surface of what’s to come over the next year.
