Scouting Report
6/29/22
Physical: 6-foot-2, 165 pounds; Long, slender build. 6.83 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a compact swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Catches a strong barrel with slight tilt, high on-plane efficiency from the bat path. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot. OF - 83 MPH. Clear quickness and focused, controlled aggression. Covers ground well with above average outfield velo.
2/13/22
Physical: Lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 155-lb frame with projectable features. 6.96 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, slightly open stance as the hands worked in rhythm back by the head. Utilized a short leg-hang stride to initiate the swing through a flat, uphill path into the hitting zone. Liked to get extended with some hinge over the plate on occasion and recorded an 84 mph bat-exit velocity on his best barrel to pull. Lofty approach in the box with a 75% fly ball rate and could backspin the ball for distance.
Defensively: The primary outfielder stalked the ball with an accurate initial first step showing off a rounded back in anticipation of the forward move. Fielded out in front and maintained downhill momentum to the catcher, releasing accurately from a H ¾ slot (80 mph peak). Slid over to SS with positional flexibility and played lengthy with standout range to his left side. Registered a 79 mph throwing arm with feel for pace.
